Stanley Dwain Bowers, 87, of Bayard, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at his home.

Per his request, cremation was held and services will be held later.

Prairie Hills Funeral Home of Ogallala and Henne Family Services are assisting the family with the cremation.

Stan was born on June 3, 1932 in Bayard to Charlie and Marion (Kirchhoff) Bowers. He grew up and attended school in the Bayard area.

Stan was united in marriage to Geneva Rafferty and to this union, five children were born. They made their home on the farm east of Bayard where he farmed for several years.

Stan is survived by his wife, Geneva Bowers of Bayard; son, Wilford Bowers of Bayard; twin daughters, Carole (Carl) Roach of Bridgeport, Charyl Henne of Gering; son, Tim Bowers of Bayard; 14 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren sisters, Bonita Case and Twila Sinks; sister-in-law, Joyce Bowers; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Marion (Kirchhoff) Bowers; daughter, Beverley Douglas; and brother, Dallas "Ike" Bowers.
