Geneva June Bowers, 88, of Bayard, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport.

Cremation was held and private family services will be held.

Geneva was born on June 16, 1934, in Stratton, Colorado to H. Joseph and Orlena L. (Poppe) Rafferty. She grew up and attended school in Bayard and Alliance.

Geneva was united in marriage to Stanley Bowers and to this union, five children were born. They made their home on the farm east of Bayard where they farmed for several years.

Geneva is survived by her son, Wilford Bowers of Gering; twin daughters, Carole (Carl) Roach of Bridgeport, Charyl Henne of Gering; son, Tim Bowers of Bayard; 12 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren; one brother; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Orlena Rafferty; husband, Stanley Bowers; an infant brother; daughter, Beverley Douglas; and grandsons, Randy Douglas and Adam Roach.
